Aperture time
| Time in which the cylinder stays coupled in after successful verification and thus can be opened.

|
Chip key
| Chip keys are electronic keys for opening all door systems with a chip key reader. Chip keys are passive transponders. For operation it is sufficient to shortly place the key chip in the designated slot. The insertion direction does not matter as the stainless steel contacts are on both sides. The key uses an encryption method to protect from readout and manipulation attempts.

Permanent access
| Option to enable access to publicly open buildings or companies during a defined period for everybody. Beyond this time access is only possible for authorised persons.

|
Protocol function
| Cylinders with this function protocol the opening and closing of the door.
|
|
|
Proximity reader
| With these readers it suffices to hold the chip resp. the card or tag in front of the reader to open the door. As no contact between closing agent and reader is necessary, it is also often called "contact-free door opening" resp. "contact-free closing agent".

Proximity tag
| Small chip which can be placed in front of a proximity reader without contact and thus offers door operation.

|
PZ mortise lock
| DIN 18 251 standardized door lock with fitting opening for a profile cylinder (PZ from the German Profilzylinder).

|
Semicylinder
| These cylinders have only one knob in contrast to double knob cylinders. Usually they are used for operating wall switches.
